Electrical Engineering Team Leader
Immediate permanent vacancy for an experienced Team Leader to manage day‑to‑day activities within the electrical and controls team.
Purpose of Role
Assist with managing day‑to‑day activities, ensuring technical coordination, maintaining and developing processes, and providing trouble‑shooting, sales and application support while visiting customers both in the UK and worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Administration: time sheets, absences monitoring, banked hours, holidays, inductions and leaving interviews.
- Monitor and sign off designs, ensuring fit for purpose.
- Allocate and monitor resources; allocate corrective action for non‑conformances.
- Liaise with mechanical, electrical and control engineers.
- Receive internal and external audits of the design process.
- Conceptual design, engineering calculations, engineering design estimates.
- Support assembly shop, test and develop new machinery, problem‑solve during machinery test.
- Attend/lead design reviews.
- Brainstorm solutions, monitor budgetary performance, monitor design to ensure customer specification compliance.
- Ensure projects delivered on time and to budget, troubleshoot through to customer acceptance and post‑project learning.
- Provide technical sales support and validate sales proposals.
- Support application department with solution advice, system configuration, performance criteria, cost reviews and margin maximisation.
- Develop pragmatic, cost‑effective strategies responding to client requirements.
- Report problems and deficiencies in design and brief.
- Maintain files and records throughout contract.
- Suggest solutions to problems based on relevant technologies.
- Visit customers worldwide to resolve problems and test machines/systems.
- Ensure statutory and company procedures and practices are maintained.
- Ensure all activities support faster, cheaper and smaller machines and business objectives.
- Deal with specifiers, suppliers and distributors.
- Promote a safe working environment and compliance with current legislation.
- Other duties may be requested.

Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 in electrical engineering or similar.
- Successfully completed apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
