Senior Procurement Manager – Currys (London campus, Waterloo)

Position Type: Permanent, Full Time | Grade: 5 | Location: London – Currys London Campus at Waterloo

Technology procurement is a key enabler of digital transformation, delivering innovation and commercial value across Currys. This senior role leads strategic technology procurement, partnering with C‑suite to design category strategies and manage complex, high‑value supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technology transformation programmes, shaping sourcing strategy, evaluating options, managing vendor risk, and ensuring procurement supports delivery.
  • Architect and own the end‑to‑end category strategy for technology spend, translating the digital transformation agenda into efficient sourcing plans.
  • Negotiate high‑stakes, multi‑million pound deals with global technology vendors and cloud providers.
  • Manage executive‑level relationships with strategic outsource partners, ensuring delivery commitments, SLA compliance, and cost control.
  • Champion supplier AI and efficiency initiatives.
  • Partner with C‑suite and senior technology leaders, translating market dynamics into strategic recommendations.
  • Deliver an annual savings pipeline across the technology category.
  • Design and implement governance, performance frameworks, and benchmarking to drive supplier accountability.

Qualifications

  • Senior procurement experience in a FTSE 100/250 or equivalent high‑growth technology company.
  • Proven track record negotiating multi‑million pound agreements with global technology vendors and outsource partners.
  • Demonstrated delivery of substantial cost savings while maintaining or improving service quality.
  • Experience managing enterprise technology contracts (cloud, AI/ML platforms, SaaS, outsourcing, managed services).
  • Track record of influencing decisions at ExCo or C‑suite level.
  • Executive presence and strong influencing skills.
  • Strategic thinker, able to architect long‑term category strategies while closing complex deals.
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with technology fluency.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and commercial outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of technology procurement categories (outsourcing, cloud infrastructure, enterprise software licensing, professional services, AI/ML platforms, telecommunications).
  • Knowledge of emerging technology trends – AI, machine learning, automation – and their contractual implications.
  • Degree or equivalent education in a relevant field.
  • Professional qualification (MCIPS) desirable.
