World Heritage & Projects Officer
About The Role
As the World Heritage & Projects Officer, you will:
- Support the delivery of Birkenhead Park's UNESCO nomination and related strategic initiatives.
- Lead and coordinate community and stakeholder engagement to inform project development.
- Work with the World Heritage Steering Group, advisory committees, and external partners; assist in developing, managing and delivering multimillion‑pound heritage and conservation projects.
- Represent the Parks & Countryside Service at meetings, workshops, and engagement events; support procurement, reporting, consultation activities, and project planning.
- Help ensure that Birkenhead Park continues to thrive as a well‑loved, well‑used and nationally recognised heritage landscape.
- This role offers a unique blend of heritage project support, public engagement, and partnership working.
About The Candidate
We are looking for someone who can bring enthusiasm, creativity and strong organisational skills to a high‑profile heritage environment.
You Will Have
- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area, along with excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage communities, stakeholders, and professional partners.
- Experience delivering or supporting large‑scale projects or campaigns with strong organisational and planning skills, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Experience of working on UNESCO programmes, heritage funding bids, or within historic landscapes is desirable but not essential.
