A well-established engineering business is looking to recruit an Applications Engineer to join their team. This is a key position supporting both technical and commercial activities, with a strong focus on customer interaction and engineering design.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customers with technical queries, RFQs, and application requirements
- Produce and maintain accurate engineering drawings and documentation
- Work closely with engineering, purchasing, and production teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery
- Prepare quotations in line with company margins and support contract reviews
- Act as a key technical point of contact for customers, providing guidance and problem-solving support
- Manage communication around pricing, lead times, and technical specifications
- Lead the implementation of DriveWorks within the business
- Take ownership of the system, including configuration, rules, and workflows
- Develop automation for drawings, BOMs, models, and quotations
- Work cross-functionally to define inputs, constraints, and outputs
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased automation
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and Health & Safety standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering and production processes
The Candidate
- Mechanical Engineering background preferred
- Experience working with engineering drawings and design processes
- Strong technical and commercial awareness
- Understanding of manufacturing or precision engineering environments
- Confident communicator with customer-facing experience
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage workload effectively
£35,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
