Overview
Working pattern: Shift-based role with a rotating schedule covering early, standard, and late hours
We’re hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support and scale our AWS environment. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid cloud operations or sysadmin experience, working across infrastructure, networking, security, and automation.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team managing production AWS workloads and contributing to the ongoing improvement of our cloud platform.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage infrastructure within AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, VPC
- Manage and support networking components across VPCs, including route tables, subnets, and DNS via Route 53
- Configure and maintain secure access using IAM, WAF, Security groups
- Build and maintain infrastructure using CloudFormation
- Support application delivery using services such as API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, and CloudFront
- Monitor systems using CloudWatch, Grafana, and Opsview, responding to alerts and performance issues
- Work within a multi-account AWS environment, ensuring best practices are followed
- Automate deployments and operational tasks using Jenkins and Chef
- Maintain clear and up-to-date technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and system configurations
- Create, maintain, and follow incident response runbooks to ensure consistent handling of issues
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Identify and implement cost optimisation opportunities across AWS services
- Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure and operational processes
Requirements
- 1–3 years’ experience in a Cloud Operations / SysAdmin / Support role
- Hands-on AWS experience across core services (compute, storage, networking)
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
- Experience with automation or scripting
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Opsview, or similar
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
