Falls Practice Development Lead

Band 7 £49,387 - £56,515 Per annum, pro rata if part‑time

Hours 37.5 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

An experienced and motivated Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional is required to lead the Falls Prevention Service across the Trust. The role combines clinical expertise, practice development, education, quality improvement and multidisciplinary collaboration to reduce falls‑related harm and improve patient outcomes.

The post holder will provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, delivery and evaluation of education and training programmes to enhance staff knowledge, competence and confidence in falls risk assessment, prevention and post‑fall management. They will also be accountable for ensuring the highest standards of patient care through ongoing comprehensive assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of falls prevention and management programmes, underpinned by clinical governance frameworks, continuous professional development and quality improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing expert advice, education and support to multidisciplinary teams across the organisation.
• Designing and delivering education and training programmes, including induction, mandatory training and targeted training in response to incidents, audits and national guidance.
• Early identification of individuals at risk of falls and fractures, and implementation of evidence‑based prevention and risk‑reduction strategies.
• Ensuring clinical governance and quality improvement methodologies are applied to falls prevention services.
• Working autonomously and as part of a small specialist team to lead and support the delivery of high‑quality evidence‑based falls prevention practice.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nursing or relevant Allied Health Professional qualification.
• Advanced specialist knowledge and skills in falls prevention and management.
• Experience in practice development, education, quality improvement and multidisciplinary collaboration.
