We are looking for a part‑time traffic signals engineer with proven experience in the delivery of traffic signals maintenance, and identifying and delivering programmes of capital replacement and renewal works for traffic signals across North East Lincolnshire.
This Engineer will take a lead role in the development of policies and programmes of work for the council's traffic signals assets, contributing to delivery of the Council's Highway Asset Management Policy and Strategy, and fulfilment of the Council's responsibilities for maintenance of the highway network, aligned to delivery of local and national objectives, to ensure that the highway network is protected as a valuable asset for future generations.
Based in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire you will deliver the Traffic Signal maintenance service by supervising and liaising, on a day‑to‑day basis, with the Term Maintenance Contractor. This includes advising on contractual and safety matters and dealing with any reports or complaints from the Public or stakeholders, monitoring and reporting faults in a timely manner, monitoring the permanent automatic traffic signal and the Council's SCOT system and associated Wireless MESH system within North East Lincolnshire.
On a less frequent basis, you will review, develop and implement NELC policies and procedures for the highway traffic signals service, and identify and develop ideas and initiatives that support the "Smart Cities" agenda and council's zero carbon roadmap, including management of the council's rising bollard assets.
We are looking for a reliable, self‑motivated individual who can work well on their own or as part of a team, who is enthusiastic about making a difference in improving highway infrastructure in North East Lincolnshire, and who has the required experience and drive to excel in this team.
