Job Description:

This is a client‑side opportunity for an M&E Project Manager working within a client‑side construction projects team for a significant data centre owner/operator. This is a live data centre and a busy role whereby you will be project managing various building services upgrades and retrofits on site.

  • Maintain SLA availability tier‑3 requirements in live data centre environments
  • Apply strong administrative skills, understand audit trails and develop processes; methodical and effective in decisions
  • Report blockers, issues, next steps and recommendations and track weekly progress
  • Solution‑oriented, adapt and overcome issues and problems without compromising safety
  • Represent the client, always prioritising their best interests
  • Manage risk and trace all items back to impact on cost and time, seeking improvements
  • Work comfortably with ACC SharePoint, drawings and plans on site
  • Understand importance of temporary works and develop a plan to implement them
  • Handle work within BMS, electrical or mechanical (cooling) disciplines, requiring technical services experience and data centre live site experience
  • Oversee all disciplines (electrical, mechanical, controls, architectural), identify improvement areas and act on data from other teams and organisations

Additional Responsibilities

  • Project management and oversight of build and retrofitting activities related to modifying existing infrastructure to install new or replace end‑of‑life equipment; ownership of scope, timeline, and budget
  • Provide project management for initiatives aimed at increasing data centre resiliency
  • Review construction/project package drawings
  • Create project scope, requests for proposals, and capital requests
  • Ensure total project quality, including commissioning plan and oversight of execution
  • Record and report key metrics to team members and management
  • Support operations by reviewing procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives
  • Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root‑cause failure analysis associated with equipment or electrical failures
  • Work with contractors and vendors to deliver efficient and high‑quality project turnovers
  • Lead within the group and across internal and external teams that support the data centre

Qualifications

  • Experience with M&E and civil/architectural drawings; ability to identify gaps and opportunities to expedite programs and work packages
  • Strong understanding of data centre live site operations and ability to maintain SLA tier‑3 availability
  • Comfortable using ACC SharePoint, and interpreting drawings and plans
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants, and coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Proficient in risk management, cost and time impact analysis, and safety compliance
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
