Goldman Sachs Asset Management is a leading asset manager with over $3 trillion in assets under supervision. The Private Credit, Asset Backed Finance platform focuses on investing in asset‑backed credit facilities globally.

Asset Finance is a growth area within GSAM Alternatives Private Credit, specializing in consumer loans, real estate, commercial credit, fund finance and digital infrastructure. The team invests across the capital structure for third‑party managed client capital and funds.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate asset‑backed finance opportunities across sectors; support transaction execution and investment team across underwriting, structuring, diligence, internal IC process, and closing.
  • Participate in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments, supporting senior members of the investments team.
  • Engage in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis.
  • Project‑manage transaction operations, coordinating with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Operations.
  • Communicate and defend investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including relevant GSAM Investment Committees.
  • Actively monitor existing investments in the portfolio.
  • Contribute to ensuring reporting excellence towards clients.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in structured finance or corporate finance at a bank, rating agency or asset manager.
  • Demonstrated experience across private asset‑backed transactions or private securitizations.
  • Strong quantitative, financial modelling, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and excellent follow‑through.
  • Clear, concise communicator with strong investment memo and presentation skills.
  • Flexible and creative mindset; ability to analyse a variety of industries and businesses.
  • Ability to self‑direct, analyse, evaluate and form independent judgments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to build trust and confidence with colleagues, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialogue, and collaborate well with others.
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Fluent in English. Fluency or other languages a plus.
