This is a senior, customer‑facing role where you’ll own the quality, direction, and governance of all Microsoft Security pre‑sales activity – partnering closely with Customer Success Managers, Account Managers, and delivery teams to ensure engagements are well‑qualified, accurately scoped, and aligned to customer outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
MCI Workshop Scoping & SOW Ownership

- Produce accurate, audit‑ready Statements of Work aligned to Microsoft funding rules
- Define assumptions, prerequisites, scope, and deliverables for MCI approval
- Run customer discovery sessions to identify challenges, requirements & automation opportunities
Microsoft Security Technical Leadership
Apply deep, practical expertise across the Microsoft Security stack, including:
- Microsoft Defender: endpoint, identity, email, and cloud apps
- Microsoft Entra: identity, access governance & privileged access
- Microsoft Purview: DLP, information protection & compliance workshops
You’ll ensure all engagements align with Microsoft funding models and Bytes’ best practice – while understanding when non‑Microsoft security tooling may be appropriate to support customer outcomes.
Customer & Internal Collaboration
- Act as the key technical bridge between Customer Success, Pre‑Sales Architecture, and delivery teams
- Join pre‑scoping calls to confirm objectives, success criteria, and workshop direction
- Support seamless handover into delivery, ensuring clarity on scope and expected outcomes
Documentation & Quality Control
- Maintain consistency, accuracy, and quality across all security‑focused SOWs
- Ensure documentation is audit‑ready and compliant with Microsoft standards
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of templates, guidance, and internal best practices
Coaching & Team Development
- Share Microsoft Security best practices across the Technical Pre‑Sales community
- Keep up‑to‑date with Microsoft Security roadmap changes & funding updates
What You’ll Bring
- 5–7 years’ experience in a Technical Pre‑Sales, Security Architecture, or Security Consulting role
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender & Entra (essential)
- Proven experience producing and owning Statements of Work (essential)
- Confident leading customer discovery & scoping sessions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences

- Understanding of SIEM/SOC models and non‑Microsoft security tooling – desirable
- Penetration testing assurance – desirable
