Contract Mechanical Design Engineer (3 Months)

Rate: 36 per hour

Location: UK (site‑based / hybrid as required)

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for a 3‑month contract role within a well‑established engineering and manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and development of heavy‑duty steel products and assemblies
• 3D modelling and drawing production using SolidWorks
• Conducting FEA analysis to validate structural performance
• Supporting prototype development and testing
• Collaborating with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing and quality

Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical design within steel or structural products
• Strong SolidWorks capability
• Experience with FEA/structural analysis
• Background in structural or civil engineering principles highly desirable
• Ability to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines
