Automation Managers in our Digital Manufacturing & Operations domain design and implement solutions that integrate strategy, technology, data and people to allow process improvements that create value for clients.

This role focuses on designing and implementing automated manufacturing operations applications and technologies that enable operational efficiency and effectiveness. You will work with technology and consulting colleagues throughout the project lifecycle—from scoping and design to implementation, testing and support—to deliver greenfield and brownfield factory/plant modernisation programmes and support digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help clients target and deliver value through the digital transformation of their factory/plant/infrastructure operations.
  • Shape, sell and deliver projects that create tangible value, including current state assessments, opportunity identification and business case development.
  • Design application technology solutions to enable future work models, business functions and processes.
  • Use digital technologies to deliver targeted business outcomes.
  • Build enduring, trust‑based relationships at all career levels, internally and externally, and support coaching and career development across the practice.
  • Support the sales process from origination to closing, including fine‑tuning proposals and client presentations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hands‑on process/technology practitioner with experience in either discrete or process manufacturing environments.
  • Experience analysing clients’ strategy, operating vision, business imperatives and capabilities.
  • Experience selecting appropriate application, technology and infrastructure components.
  • In‑depth understanding of factory/plant operational challenges and opportunities.
  • Knowledge of existing, new and emerging digital technologies and practical application to shop floor processes.
  • Experience estimating technology and implementation costs and effort for client proposals.
  • Familiarity with application integration and shop floor security across edge, on‑premise and cloud architectures.
