Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Greater Manchester (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)

Salary: Up to £50k (DOE) + up to 15% bonus

We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to lead a Hardware and Electronics Development team. You will play a key role in the development of next‑generation electronic systems, supporting products from concept through to manufacture. This position combines hands‑on design work with team leadership and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electronic hardware including schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Deliver product development projects from concept through to production
  • Lead day‑to‑day activities of a small engineering team
  • Interpret project requirements and communicate deliverables clearly
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including technology, operations, and manufacturing
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies for future product development
  • Support prototyping, testing, and new product introduction (NPI)
  • Produce and manage design documentation, BOMs, and technical reports
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g. ISO9001)
  • Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership

About You

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in electronic hardware design
  • Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB design (Altium preferred)
  • Experience testing electronic components and assemblies
  • Background in Digital, analogue, and microcontroller‑based systems
  • Proficient with communication protocols (e.g. LTE, Ethernet, CAN, I2C)
  • Understanding of the full product development lifecycleExperience supporting manufacturing and NPI activities
  • Comfortable working in a hands‑on technical role
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers
