Role Purpose

The Regulatory Affairs team acts as the strategic guardian of Multiverse’s ‘License to Operate,’ transforming complex regulation from a constraint into a competitive advantage. As the technical and operational engine of this team, you will be at the forefront of this mission, translating dense regulatory requirements into robust submissions and actionable internal advisory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and Submissions: Create the first drafts of critical regulatory submissions (e.g., sections of our Degree Awarding Powers assessment, OfS Self‑Assessment) for review.
  • Internal Advisory: Act as the “human line of response” for the business on regulatory questions and provide initial advice.
  • Stakeholder Management & Coordination: Act as the central driver for cross‑functional regulatory requirements, managing and coordinating stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate information on time.
  • Oversight Management: Audit and monitor our oversight committees to ensure compliant operations.
  • Risk Intelligence: Analyse internal data trends to spot emerging regulatory risks early and propose mitigation strategies.
  • AI Tooling and Knowledge Management: Set up and maintain our Regulatory Affairs AI Tooling, update the knowledge base and verify answer samples to ensure accuracy as rules change.
  • Policy Auditing: Audit relevant policies to ensure they remain compliant, viable, and aligned with current expectations.
  • Provision Oversight and Reporting: Act as a key point person for Provision Oversight Reviews and assist with planning and production of comprehensive oversight reporting for executives, senior leadership and committees.
  • Project Management: Own the planning lifecycle for returns, defining timelines, instructing stakeholders and quality‑assuring contributions before review.
  • Regulatory Meeting Preparation: Assist the Head of Regulatory Affairs with regulatory meeting preparation and data packs.

What You’ll Bring

  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills with proven ability to manage cross‑functional stakeholders and hold them accountable to strict regulatory deadlines without direct authority.
  • Governance and Oversight Experience: Experience interacting with, supporting, or auditing formal boards and committees and confidence to hold teams accountable for running compliant committee operations.
  • Regulated Environment Experience: Proven experience working within a regulated environment (e.g., Legal, Education, Financial Services or Healthcare) and navigating regulatory frameworks.
  • Regulatory Interpretation: Exceptional ability to read, interpret and distill dense regulatory guidance into clear, actionable business requirements and robust submissions.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Proficiency in data manipulation (Excel/Google Sheets, pivot tables) to build reports, track KPIs and spot emerging risk trends.
  • AI and Systems Aptitude: Highly process‑driven mindset with hands‑on experience or strong technical curiosity for setting up and managing knowledge bases, CRM systems or AI‑driven tools.
  • Project Management: Strong organisational skills to own the planning lifecycle for annual returns and coordinate reporting across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent drafting and writing skills, acting as the confident “first line of response” for internal advisory.

Curiosity and AI First‑Mindset: A strong interest or technical proficiency in AI, knowledge management and the regulatory landscape.

Benefits

  • Time off: 27 days holiday plus 5 additional days (1 life‑event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company‑wide wellbeing days (M‑Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year).
  • Health & Wellness: Private medical insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill – all in one mental health support.
  • Hybrid work offering: For most roles we collaborate in the office three days per week; coaches and instructors collaborate in the office once a month.
  • Work‑from‑anywhere scheme: Opportunity to work from anywhere, up to 10 days per year.
  • Space to connect: We make time for weekly catch‑ups, seasonal celebrations, and have a kitchen that’s always stocked.
