Music Teacher – Primary

We are seeking a Music Teacher to join our vibrant primary school in South Lancaster. This role involves teaching music across different classes, delivering all aspects of the primary music curriculum. The ideal candidate will be a confident musician, preferably with graded instrument skills, and ready to plan and deliver whole class performances.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Teach music lessons across various classes within the primary school setting.
  • Deliver a comprehensive curriculum that covers all aspects of primary music education.
  • Plan and prepare engaging music lessons that cater to the abilities of all students.
  • Organise and direct school performances and events related to music.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to integrate music into a broader educational context.
  • Assess student progress in music and provide feedback to encourage development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Music Teacher at the primary level.
  • Strong ability to teach and perform music, with graded instrument skills being highly desirable.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills to prepare lessons and performances.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students of varying musical abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and communicate with parents.
