Job Description:

Staff Software Engineer (React / TypeScript)

London (Hybrid working model)

£120k – £160k + 20% bonus + impressive equity options

We’re partnering with a high-growth, product-led technology company building a next-generation platform at the intersection of AI, data, and engineering workflows.

This is a frontend-heavy Staff Engineer role (80–90%) focused on shaping a complex, data-rich web application used by technical users to run experiments, analyse results, and make critical decisions.

If you enjoy building fast, intuitive UIs on top of complex systems, this is the kind of challenge you’ll thrive in.

What you’ll be working on

  • Owning and evolving a core product surface used for designing workflows, analysing data, and interacting with intelligent systems
  • Building high-performance React & TypeScript applications with complex views (dashboards, tables, timelines, data visualisations)
  • Turning large, messy datasets into clear, usable interfaces
  • Partnering closely with Product & Design to deliver clean, intuitive UX for technical users
  • Collaborating with backend engineers (Python-based services) to shape APIs and improve end-to-end experience
  • Driving improvements in performance, scalability, and frontend architecture

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience building modern frontend applications with React & TypeScript
  • Background working on complex, data-heavy products (e.g. dashboards, analytics tools, dev tools, B2B SaaS)
  • Experience owning significant product areas or systems end-to-end
  • Solid full stack understanding (APIs, data flows, system design)
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where you build from scratch

Ideal profile

  • 7+ years experience (or equivalent impact), ideally working on an AI native product
  • Previously operated at Senior / Staff level scope
  • Product-minded: cares deeply about UX, performance, and usability
  • Enjoys simplifying complex workflows for technical users
  • Pragmatic builder. You know when to ship vs. over-engineer

Nice to have

  • Experience with Python-based backends (FastAPI / Flask / Django)
  • Exposure to data visualisation, time-series, or experiment-style workflows
  • Familiarity with design systems / component libraries
  • Experience in AI/ML, data platforms, or developer tooling
  • Cloud / container environments (Docker, Kubernetes)

Why this role?

  • Own and shape a mission-critical product experience
  • Work on genuinely complex, interesting technical problems
  • High autonomy and real influence on architecture + product direction
  • Strong engineering culture with a focus on quality and velocity

If you’re a frontend-leaning engineer who enjoys solving hard UX problems in complex systems, this is a standout opportunity.
