Operations Manager – Job Description
£50,000 | Wellness & Fitness Focused | London Based
We operate premium wellness cafés inside Equinox clubs across London – currently Kensington, St James’s and Bishopsgate.
We’re building a high-performance & Longevity food & beverage business in one of the fastest-growing sectors globally – with clear ambitions to scale across the UK and beyond.
Our mission: To deliver best-in-class food and beverage for performance-focused customers – without compromising on quality, consistency or experience.
The Opportunity
We are recruiting a multi-site Operations Manager who lives and breathes wellness – someone seeking a significant challenge and the opportunity to join a high-growth company at the forefront of health and wellness. This isn’t your typical corporate F&B role. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial operator who thrives in a dynamic, minimal red tape environment where proactive doers go above and beyond.
You’ll be working across our growing network of premium cafés, optimising operations whilst helping us scale. This role combines hands-on operational excellence with the excitement of building something exceptional alongside a ready-made, captive audience who share your passion for wellness and high-performance living.
This role requires a self-sufficient, entrepreneurial approach. We are a tight management team with a big can-do attitude, seeking someone with a hands-on approach to work, who is driven and wants to be part of building an exceptional company.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be site-based, travelling between locations rather than desk-bound – this is active, hands-on leadership across our rapidly expanding network.
Your key responsibilities:
• Multi-site Operations: Running day-to-day operations across fitness cafés in premium London locations, driving P&L responsibility and top-line growth
• Team Leadership: Managing, coaching and developing 3-6 café managers and supervisors, creating exceptional teams that deliver outstanding service
• Operational Excellence: Monitoring KPIs, optimising rosters, managing budgets and forecasts, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
• Quality & Standards: Ensuring immaculate site presentation and service standards that wow our fitness-focused clientele
• Supply Chain Management: Managing supplier relationships, negotiating with partners, troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating maintenance
• Training & Development: Creating SOPs, delivering training programmes, and building a culture of excellence across all locations
• Strategic Support: Contributing to business plan execution and helping establish operational foundations for expansion
• Relationship Building: Maintaining strong relationships with gym partners, customers, and stakeholders
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone with 5-7 years of multi-site operations experience in high-end coffee shops, cafés, premium restaurants, or luxury hospitality environments (think Soho House level quality and service).
Essential: You must be genuinely passionate about fitness and wellness. This isn’t negotiable. You live this lifestyle and understand our customers because you ARE our customer.
You’re a proactive doer who thrives in entrepreneurial, fast-moving environments. Someone who sees challenges as opportunities, goes above and beyond without being asked, and wants to be part of building something exceptional rather than maintaining the status quo.
What we need:
• Multi-site Experience: Proven track record managing 5-7+ sites in high-quality F&B or hospitality
• Premium Standards: Experience in high-end coffee/café operations or luxury restaurant/hospitality environments
• Fitness & Wellness Passion: Genuine lifestyle alignment – you understand our brand because you live it
• Leadership Skills: Strong track record developing teams and delivering exceptional customer service
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self-sufficient, solution-focused, comfortable with minimal red tape
• Operational Excellence: Experience with P&L management, KPIs, supplier relationships, and equipment troubleshooting
Your personality:
• Upwardly mobile and ambitious – you want to grow with us
• ‘Whatever it takes’ mentality with exceptional attention to detail
• Calm under pressure, highly motivated
• Team-oriented but completely self-sufficient
• Stable work history with proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships
Why Join Us?
This is your chance to join a high-growth company at the forefront of the wellness revolution, working with a ready-made, captive audience who share your passion for fitness and high-performance living.
