Job Description
Role: Senior Site ManagerLocation: StaffordshireSalary: £60,000 – £70,000 plus package
Responsibilities
- Understand and comply with the Company’s Management Systems and Policies for Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental.
- Take responsibility for all management systems requirements for the duration of the contract period.
- Be responsible and accountable for health and safety on site in planning, delivery and providing leadership to the site team and supply chain.
- Take responsibility for the construction programme, ensuring adherence and monitoring and reporting on it.
- Develop and implement short‑term and target programmes with input from the supply chain and site team, ensuring their adherence.
- Develop, implement and ensure adherence to recovery, acceleration and completion programmes as required, in conjunction with line management.
- Assist the Design Manager and Project Quantity Surveyor in producing design programmes, information‑required schedules and procurement programmes.
- Hold regular internal meetings to review Health & Safety, Quality, Programme and Environmental performance.
- Develop and deliver site inductions and toolbox talks, as tasks allow.
- Mentor new and junior staff members.
- Fulfil the role of Temporary Works Coordinator (training provided).
- Plan and organise site facilities and logistics, being accountable for hired plant.
- Ensure regular meetings with the supply chain to facilitate programme adherence.
- Attend pre‑commencement meetings with the supply chain and quantity surveyor.
- Attend client and design team meetings and present requested reports.
- Co‑operate with local Quality Manager to review compliance with the Quality Management System and address findings.
- Instill in the site team and supply chain the requirement to complete all relevant inspections and documentation to ensure works meet contract drawings and specification.
- Act promptly to rectify non‑compliant work.
- Co‑ordinate hand‑over to the Aftercare Manager so their focus is solely on latent defects.
- Co‑operate with the local Environmental Manager to review compliance with the Environmental Management System and address findings.
- Keep local Business Development Manager informed of publicity opportunities.
- Attend training courses as requested by the SHEQ/HR Departments.
- Co‑operate with SHEQ/HR to meet other site team members’ training and development needs.
- Co‑operate with Supply Chain Manager and provide regular performance feedback.
Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of construction build processes and defects.
- Experience as a Manager on large Industrial, Logistics or Commercial projects.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects and competency in health and safety practices and legislation.
- Understanding and application of commercial principles for cost, profit, market and added value.
- Experience in cost‑control and planning.
- Ability to procure, interpret and disseminate contract information.
- Ability to schedule materials and plant.
- A multi‑skilled trade background and/or degree qualification or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- CSCS Site Manager’s Card.
- SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Fire Marshal certification.
- Temporary Works Coordinator certification (preferable).
