Consultant In Public Health
The Trust is recruiting a full-time Consultant In Public Health for our new Health Equity team.
Position Summary
This full-time (10 session/day) role leads on improving the health and wellbeing of residents, particularly those living with a serious mental illness. The post-holder will have a senior clinical leadership role within the Health Equity Team and will influence across the Trust and with stakeholders across the system.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead on the development and delivery of health equity priorities, applying specialist public health expertise.
- Influence and collaborate with colleagues in Public Health teams across Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils, Integrated Care Board, provider Trusts and general practice.
- Drive and support change management programmes across organisational boundaries.
- Use complex data to explain public health issues to diverse audiences.
Qualifications (Essential)
- Registered or eligible for GMC Full and Specialist Register, GDC Specialist List, or UKPHR for Public Health Specialists.
- Equivalent training and/or appropriate experience of public health practice if registered in a different specialty.
- Evidence of being within 6 months of gaining entry to a register at the date of interview (portfolio route exceptions).
- UK‑trained Public Health holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or within six months of award of CCT at interview.
- Up to date with minimum CPD requirements in accordance with Faculty of Public Health or other recognised body.
- Evidence of successful completion of the MFPH examination or equivalent.
Experience (Essential)
- Delivery of successful change management programmes across organisational boundaries.
- Understanding and experience navigating the complexities of the health and care system.
- Experience of using complex information to explain public health issues to a range of audiences.
Knowledge (Essential)
- In‑depth understanding of the health and care system and relationships with local & national government.
- Knowledge of methods for developing clinical quality assurance, quality improvement, evaluations and evidence‑based public health practice.
- Demonstrable understanding of interfaces between health, social care and key partners (wider determinants of health).
