Senior Drainage Engineer – Edinburgh

In this role you will join an experienced team based in Edinburgh to manage multiple projects from pre‑planning to construction phases for both private and public sector clients.

Responsibilities

• Complete flood risk assessments.
• Conduct transport assessments.
• Prepare surface water management plans.
• Develop drainage strategies.
• Design drainage for mixed‑use developments using Site3D.
• Create detailed designs for residential developments in respect of S278, S38, S104 and S106.
• Design access roads for developments.
• Project manage multiple projects.
• Liaise with clients to discuss project development and resolve design clashes.
• Develop new business opportunities with new and existing clients.

Qualifications

• Background in hydrology or civil engineering.
• Experience with a UK‑based consultancy specialising in flood risk assessments and drainage designs for residential, commercial and industrial developments including access roads and highway drainage.
• Experience completing transport assessments is beneficial.
• Confidence to work autonomously and eventually grow a team.
• Strong client liaison and project management skills.
