Role Purpose
Procurement Manager – Capex. Responsible for the commercial aspects and overall supplier performance for goods and services purchased from suppliers across our categories of spend, and continuously creating additional value for money for Greencore. Pro‑actively engage with stakeholders across Greencore to encourage best practice and own the commercial aspects of projects that involve suppliers.
Key Accountabilities
- Create additional value for money for goods and services, balancing price, service and quality, and meeting business needs through negotiations, selection of suppliers, and contracting.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide professional procurement expertise and commercial focus. Challenge existing practices and introduce best procurement practice, acting as an ambassador for indirect procurement to influence business culture.
- Take a strategic category view to manage spend areas, identify savings opportunities, and drive consistency across Greencore. This includes analysing spend bases, consolidating the supply base where appropriate, sourcing fit‑for‑purpose suppliers, managing supplier performance, resolving issues, negotiating optimum price, service and quality parameters, and agreeing contracts and service levels.
- Project‑manage initiatives to meet business needs or create additional value. This involves aligning multiple stakeholders, identifying business needs and risks, planning, running tenders, negotiation, contracting, communication, approval, implementation planning, and subsequent supplier management and issue resolution.
- Negotiate and implement contracts as needed, ensuring each contract is tailored to business requirements, includes appropriate service levels, and addresses specific risks and liabilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Degree level and indirect procurement experience.
- Excellent commercial insight coupled with strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to build good relationships with stakeholders, with excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Analytical ability to assess data, identify and evaluate options, and implement recommendations.
- Skill in adapting contracts to mitigate liabilities in line with business risk and creating service levels to meet business needs.
- Capability to operate effectively in a complex multi‑site environment and bring all parties on board to a single solution.
- Experience prioritising and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
