Responsibilities
- Lead business development and client relationship management activities, growing your own client base across Scotland.
- Win fee‑earning work through networking, bid support and strategic client engagement.
- Manage and mentor Project Managers and junior team members, supporting their professional development.
- Oversee delivery of complex, multi‑disciplinary construction projects from inception through to completion.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
- Lead and chair project meetings, design team coordination sessions and issue meeting minutes.
- Manage project programmes, budgets and risk registers to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
- Ensure construction projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Support directors in strategic planning, business growth initiatives and consultancy expansion.
- Drive a professional, proactive and solutions‑focused approach across all project activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and service delivery.
Qualifications
- Extensive consultancy and/or client‑side experience within the built environment and construction sector.
- Proven track record of fee‑earning and work‑winning, with demonstrable client development skills.
- Experience building and managing your own client base through effective networking and relationship management.
- Previous leadership and team management experience, including mentoring junior construction professionals.
- Ability to balance business development activities with hands‑on project delivery and stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills for client engagement and team leadership.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project risk, financial performance and contract administration.
- Experience across multi‑disciplinary service offerings and multiple construction sectors.
- Strategic thinking with a proactive, forward‑looking approach to consultancy growth.
- Professional membership such as MRICS, MAPM, APM or equivalent industry recognition is highly desirable.
- Full UK driving licence for site visits.

Working arrangements
Work from 35a Melville Street, Edinburgh, EH3 7JF, travelling to sites. Monday–Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with an hour for lunch break.
