The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and well-established business operating across civils, demolition and haulage.
Following the departure of a key senior figure, the business is now looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager / Quantity Surveyor to play a pivotal role in both operational delivery and commercial growth.
This is a unique position offering autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to build and shape your own department within a forward-thinking business.
The Role
This is a hybrid position combining contracts management, commercial oversight, and business development responsibilities.
- Managing multiple civils and demolition projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Overseeing contractual and commercial performance across projects
- Preparing, reviewing and managing estimates, tenders, and pricing submissions
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new clients
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities
- Managing variations, valuations, and final accounts
- Supporting operational teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, safely, and within budget
- Taking ownership of the commercial function with scope to develop systems and processes
What We\'re Looking For
- Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or Quantity Surveyor role within:
- Civil Engineering
- Demolition
- Groundworks / Infrastructure
- Strong commercial awareness with experience in:
- Estimating / tendering
- Cost control and reporting
- Client-facing work
- Ability to win work as well as deliver it
- Self-sufficient and capable of “hitting the ground running”
- Comfortable working in a standalone or leadership capacity
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
