Shopify Developer – Maternity Cover – Hybrid – Norfolk

I’m currently partnering with a premium retail brand looking for a Shopify Developer to take ownership of their product data architecture, backend configuration, and ecommerce optimisation.

This is a backend-focused Shopify role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with data structures, customisation, and improving how product information is stored, managed, and surfaced across the site.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and managing Shopify data structures, including advanced use of metafields
• Working with Matrixify and Shopify Admin to maintain scalable, efficient data workflows
• Applying HTML and CSS to enhance product pages, templates, and content presentation
• Partnering with merchandising and marketing teams to ensure technical accuracy and consistency across the site
• Using data and analytics to optimise performance, search visibility, and conversion
• Supporting collections, site structure, and promotional setups from a technical perspective
• Driving efficiencies through automation and AI tools

What they’re looking for

• Strong experience as a Shopify Developer or Shopify specialist with backend focus
• Solid understanding of Shopify architecture, metafields, and data modelling
• Experience with Matrixify or similar tools for managing large-scale data
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS
• Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to drive improvements
• Understanding of SEO best practices within ecommerce
• Highly organised, detail-driven, and comfortable working across multiple teams
