Java Backend Developer

We are currently seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to join one of our Public Sector accounts. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex middleware systems, modern Java technologies, and critical public sector platforms.

As a Specialist II – Backend Development, you will play a key role in enhancing and upgrading middleware systems. You’ll work with Java 17/21, lead Java EE library migrations, and ensure seamless integrations across enterprise systems.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java 17/21 and Spring MVC
• Lead and execute Java EE library migrations and middleware upgrades
• Work closely with Oracle 19C databases to ensure efficient data operations
• Implement and maintain SOAP and REST integrations
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Java backend/application engineering
• Strong experience with middleware technologies and enterprise integrations
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and leadership skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
