Manchester • Flexible Hours • Maternity Cover (Potential Perm)
We’re Pearl Scan Group, a Manchester-based company specialising in document management. We’re a tight-knit team who love what we do, and we’re looking for someone to jump in and help us build some great things.
We’re a small team
We’re not going to pretend being small is always glamorous. But it does mean decisions get made by people in the room, not filtered through three layers of management first.
You shape the stack
We’re not locked into years of legacy decisions made by a committee. You’ll have genuine input into tools, approaches, and how things evolve.
Less noise, more building
You’ll spend most of your time actually writing code. We have a couple of in‑house projects that are always evolving – you’ll get to know them properly and have real input into how they develop.
You're not invisible
Small teams mean real relationships. You’ll know everyone, everyone will know you, and your work will be visible and valued.
We’re looking for a Front End Developer to cover maternity leave – with a good chance of it becoming permanent for the right person. We’re open on the shape of the role too; full‑time, part‑time, or something in between. If the fit is right, we’ll make it work.
You’ll be mainly working on our in‑house developed document management applications. Just good code, good people, and the freedom to do your best work.
This one’s important to us. The tech world moves fast and we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys keeping up with it. Whether that’s side projects, online courses, contributing to open source, following dev blogs, or just messing around with new frameworks on a weekend – we want to see that curiosity. Tell us about it in your application!
Salary – £27k – £30k
Hours – 37.5
Location – Pearl Scan Group, 41 Carnarvon Street, Manchester, M3 1EZ
Send us your CV and a short introduction about yourself at recruitment@pearl-scan.co.uk – tell us what you’ve been building lately, what you’ve been learning, and why Pearl Scan sounds like your kind of place.
