As a Technical Publications Engineer, you will be responsible for assuring that QinetiQ maintains the highest standards for delivery output of documentation associated with the integration tasks undertaken by the Aviation Engineering Centre. You will develop and maintain our Technical Publications capability in readiness for growth in our core and new business. Day‑to‑day, you’ll drive cultural change in Engineering delivery to ensure that the Aviation Engineering Centre can meet its strategic growth targets by applying thought leadership and lean, innovative methods.
Your responsibilities
- Support multi‑disciplinary teams to develop and deliver Technical Publications for each required project.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with the Project Management Organisation (PMO) functions.
- Assist teams generating concepts and proposals, producing clear solutions and bids through Solution Technical Delivery Plans.
- Uplift and sustain through Continuing Improvement the quality of execution and output from the Technical Publications field of delivery.
- Maintain a culture of due diligence throughout execution and output of technical publications activities to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory obligations.
Essential experience
- Recognised as a time‑served Technical Publications Engineer/Leader with strong background and understanding in aerospace documentation.
- Apply internal and external business factors to influence decision‑making.
- Work independently, influence and provide guidance on tasks of varied complexity.
- Professional and assertive communicator, capable of conducting formal reviews of technical publications documents and tasks.
- Knowledge and experience of wider Aviation industry practice and general Engineering best practice that enables cultural shift in ways of working.
- Highly experienced in technical publications, ideally for both military and civil platforms, through personal delivery in the field.
Essential qualifications
- HNC / HND / Degree in an appropriate Engineering subject matter coupled with commensurate experience in technical publications.
- In‑depth and extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in technical publications and the development of technical publications documents in support of aerospace applications.

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Boscombe Down site with a minimum average site attendance of four days per week.
