The Data Centre Technical Team lead (TL) are technical owners of a project, which are related technically and/or are within the same product domain. This role will require travel if requested, for workshop, milestone meetings, Factory Test Witness, etc. Mainly in EMEA region.
A TL shows strategic leadership by transforming business problems and PRDs into technical specifications. They set the strategy for the project and create the technical roadmap. This includes creating the core design, making technology choices and getting buy-in. They are the final decision maker and tie breaker for technical decisions for the team.
The TL shows deep expertise in the core technologies used in the project. They know the system, its dependencies and the history of key technical decisions. They are capable of executing any technical task on a project.
A TL has the full end to end understanding of a product or service and contributes to influence the product strategy. In some cases where there is no dedicated product owner, the TL will act as the product owner.
Acting as a role model for their team, the TL scales through others. They delegate effectively, rally the team, mentor and keep the team focused and healthy.
The TL is the main engineering representative for the project and the team who is responsible for effectively communicating the strategy, design, decisions, solutions and product status to key stakeholders like VPs.
A TL solves deep complex technical problems effectively (according to level), is expected to be highly productive and makes significant contributions to the project.
