Overview
We are offering an 8a Senior Clinical Psychology post in our community CAMHS team. The position is based in Conwy or Denbighshire and offers a development route from Band 7 to the senior 8a role.
The post-holder will join a diverse and vibrant multidisciplinary team in a fully integrated Early Intervention and Prevention and Tier 3 Specialist CAMH service, delivering primary and secondary mental health care for children and young people. The service provides a range of therapeutic interventions including DBT, CBT, EMDR, Systemic Family Psychotherapy, Art Psychotherapy, CAT, the Maudsley Model for Anorexia and Child Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.

Responsibilities
- Provide a specialised clinical psychology service to clients, including assessment and therapy.
- Work autonomously in accordance with the British Psychological Society Code of Conduct, Ethical Principles and Guidelines 2004, and Health and Care Professions Council regulations.
- Exercise delegated responsibility for the management and supervision of assistant psychologists and trainee workload within the team/service policies.
- Contribute to the development of local team policies and procedures to improve service quality.
- Advise service and professional management on psychological and organisational matters.
- Provide professional and clinical supervision for designated staff.
- Provide clinical placements and supervision for Doctoral level trainee clinical psychologists and deliver training to other professionals.
- Utilise specialised research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
- Act as a panel member in the recruitment of designated staff when required.

Person Specification
- Good honours Degree in Psychology.
- Eligibility for British Psychological Society Chartered status.
- Post‑graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent accredited by the British Psychological Society).
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Clinical supervision training for Doctoral Trainees.
- Knowledge of clinical psychology theory and practice, psychological therapies, neuropsychological and psychometric assessment and interpretation.
- Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including multivariate data analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management.
- Post‑doctoral training courses in specific areas of clinical psychology.
- Knowledge of specialised psychological therapies for specific difficult‑to‑treat groups (e.g. personality disorder, dual diagnoses, and people with additional disabilities).
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies.
Experience
- Substantial assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist, normally including significant post‑qualification experience within the designated speciality where the post is located, or relevant transferable skills.
- Demonstration of further specialist training/experience through extensive and demonstrable clinical supervision of work as a clinical psychologist.
- Experience of specialised psychological assessment and treatment of a range of clients across a wide range of care settings.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care, including coordinating care within multidisciplinary care‑planning.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
- Experience of applying clinical psychology in different cultural contexts.
- Experience of representing psychology within a multidisciplinary care context.
