LabCorp Clinical Lab Professional – UAB St. Vincent’s East (Birmingham, AL)
Work Schedule: 7 x 10‑hour shifts: (1:00 PM – 11:30 PM) 7 days on/7 days off.
Sign‑On Bonus: $5,000 (External Candidates Only).
Job Responsibilities
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem‑solving.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
- Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
- Assist with specimen processing when required.
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
Additional Qualifications
- ASCP or AMT certification.
- Non‑traditional degrees with applicable science credits meeting CLIA standards may satisfy education requirements.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proficient with computers.
- High attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must pass a standardized vision screen.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible for 401(k) only. Employees with a 7‑on/7‑off schedule receive all benefits except PTO/FTO.
