We’re partnering with an early‑stage, venture‑packed deep tech company developing advanced imaging and deployable hardware systems. As they scale, they’re looking to hire a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the mechanical architecture across their core product lines. This is a key, high‑impact role suited to someone who thrives in a startup environment and wants to combine hands‑on engineering with technical leadership.
The role
As the lead for mechanical design, you will drive the development of precision hardware systems from concept through to deployment. You’ll play a central role in shaping both the product and the engineering approach, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across embedded, systems, and test.
Requirements
- Strong experience in mechanical design and product development, ideally within high-performance or ruggedised systems
- Proven ability to take products from concept through to prototype and deployment
- Experience designing for challenging environments (e.g. UAVs, aerospace, defence, or field systems)
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g. SolidWorks or similar)
- Hands‑on approach, with experience in prototyping, testing, and iteration
- PhD or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a related discipline
