Associate / Associate Director – Electrical Design (Critical Infrastructure)
Bristol (Hybrid Working)
The Role
You’ll take a leading role in the delivery and direction of electrical design across major projects, particularly within critical infrastructure and highly regulated environments.
Key responsibilities
- Leading the design and delivery of LV & MV electrical systems across complex projects
- Providing technical leadership on renewable energy solutions (PV, BESS, grid integration)
- Overseeing and reviewing detailed design calculations and outputs
- Acting as a technical authority within project teams
- Driving collaboration with multidisciplinary and BIM teams (Revit environment)
- Leading client engagement, presentations, and stakeholder coordination
- Overseeing project delivery, ensuring alignment with programme, cost, and quality targets
- Mentoring and developing junior and mid-level engineers
- Supporting wider business objectives, including work winning and bid contributions
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer (CIBSE or IET)
- Strong background within a consultancy or contractor design environment
- Proven experience delivering complex building services or critical infrastructure projects
- Expertise in energy systems, decarbonisation, PV and BESS technologies
- Strong understanding of technical standards and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and build client relationships
- Commercial awareness with experience contributing to bids or business development
