Electrical Engineer – Deeside / Chester Area – Automation/Controls/PLCs
£49-56k base salary + quarterly bonus scheme, 10% employer pension contribution, private medical insurance – total package £57-68k. Annual salary review.
Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join a globally recognised manufacturing company with a large base in the Deeside / Chester area.
Key aspects of the position include:
- Knowledge of PLCs, controls & automation.
- Lead a small team including an Electrical Supervisor and two Electrical Technicians.
- Minimum qualification of HNC; hands‑on experience/background.
- Knowledge of AC/DC inverter drives.
- Hydraulics and pneumatics experience – desirable, not essential.
- Desire to gain Chartered status (supported by the business).
- Primarily office based (75%) with shopfloor work (25%).
- Receive specialist training, annual salary review, 10% employer pension contribution, and staff discounts with major UK brands.
- Salary includes a monthly payment for approximately 170 annualised hours (1.25× overtime rate), covering about 3‑4 hours of weekly overtime.
- Working hours 8‑4 pm Monday‑Thursday, 8‑3 pm Friday.
- Bonus not guaranteed; recently paid roughly 5% of base salary.
- 28 days holiday + bank holidays.

The company is located in the North West, easy commute from Deeside, Chester, Wrexham, Ellesmere Port, Broughton, Liverpool, Northwich, Runcorn, Widnes and Warrington.
