Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join a growing fire protection contractor working across the critical infrastructure sector. This is a field-based role covering planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, servicing, and minor remedial works on a variety of fire alarm systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and fault-find fire alarm systems on client sites
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with industry standards
- Diagnose and repair system faults efficiently and effectively
- Complete detailed service reports and compliance documentation
- Provide technical support and advice to clients where required
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant fire safety regulations and standards
- Liaise with helpdesk, supervisors, and project teams to ensure smooth service delivery
- Participate in an on-call rota (if required)
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems (e.g. Gent, Advanced, Notifier, Kentec, etc.)
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Understanding of BS5839 standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable
- FIA or equivalent fire alarm qualifications
- Experience across multiple manufacturer systems
- Background in commercial or multi-site service contracts
