What you’ll do

Compliance

  • Ensure EMCOR UK deliver services which are compliant to the needs of the customer, contract scope and meet regulatory standards (FDA/MHRA/HSE).
  • Work with the account team to ensure efficient and effective management systems of control across the account.
  • Ensure adherence to governing legislation and accreditation (e.g. ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001).
  • Ensure engineers responsible for legal compliance are held to account (e.g. HV/LV electrical distribution, pressure systems, confined spaces, gas, oil, water quality and legionella prevention, F-Gas, NICEIC).
  • Support the Technical Leadership Team and Controlling Manager to assess experience, training and competence of CPs and APs, ensuring adequate coverage across locations, annual reviews and refresher training.
  • Cultivate understanding of locations, plant or equipment posing risk and develop robust risk management strategies.
  • Manage auditing and monitoring regimes for EMCOR UK and customer SSoW, SOPs, EOPs and other management systems.
  • Prepare compliance updates for monthly customer reports and high-level overviews for quarterly/annual reviews.
  • Review policies, standards, systems and practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate with all business streams to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, retention and growth.
  • Ensure records are collated, maintained and available as demonstrable evidence of compliance for statutory activities.
  • Review compliance inspection reports and recommend actions, including remedial works as required.
  • Business Continuity Planning (BCP): organize and conduct desktop/practical BCP training, own and maintain BCMS/BCP as appropriate for the account and aligned with Sky Spaces.
  • Ensure BCPs align with Sky Spaces and wider Sky organisation plans; conduct annual reviews and communicate changes; deliver training across EMCOR UK teams.
  • Participate in customer BCP planning and training activities with the wider team.
  • General: support readiness for internal and external audits; oversee QHSE function with central HSW Business Partner; manage the account ePermit system with access permitting for the Sky Spaces estate.

Who you’ll be

  • Knowledge and experience of facilities management in practice and in complex environments.
  • Knowledge of BCMS standards such as ISO22301 advantageous.
  • Technically qualified with demonstrable experience in compliance management.
  • NEBOSH certificate level or suitable equivalent, or working towards that level.
  • Understanding of legislation and industry standards and practical application; working knowledge of QHSEW issues.
  • Report writing experience; auditing experience preferred.
  • Proficient with IT applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership, able to inspire and develop others.
  • Clear and confident communicator; able to engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to convey technical and safety assurance messages clearly to all levels.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures that improve safety, performance and resilience.
  • Customer-focused with ability to understand client needs and mobilise resources.
  • Energetic, proactive, capable of delivering under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with ability to motivate others; reliable and responsible.
  • Leadership style that includes mentoring and coaching; professional ambassador for EMCOR UK.

Other factors

This role is part of a national account covering the UK and Ireland, so travel will be required. Flexible with occasional overnight stays may be necessary; accommodation provided.
