We have a fantastic opportunity for a SHE Advisor to support the Contract SHE functions with a primary focus on environmental management. To provide and support environmental solutions and enable the Contract / Operational Teams to implement the SHE Management System.
To build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, whilst providing an independent and objective view of environmental performance on the Contract.
Costain have been appointed as Delivery Integration Partner by National Highways (NH) for delivery of the £240m rebuild of the Simister Island M60/M62/M66 interchange (M60 Junction 18), north of Manchester. As Delivery Integration Partner, Costain will overhaul the busy junction involving complex traffic management to keep tens of thousands of vehicles moving whilst construction takes place.
The works consist of:
Key Responsibilities
Deliver environmental monitoring including air quality, noise, materials management and water quality.
Support audits including for Waste Duty of Care.
Support the management of ecological risk including protected species and invasive non-native species.
Support carbon management aligned to PAS 2080.
Support the evidencing of environmental commitments made during planning stages.
Support and Influence Contract Leadership Team, Clients, and other Stakeholders in compliance with the SHE Management System and Contract SHE Performance.
Support and where required deliver training, to allow the contract team to successfully implement the SHE Management System.
Coach and support the Contract Operational and Supply Chain Contractors in the delivery of the Contract SHE requirements.
Where required be actively involved in the ongoing assessment of the Contracts Supply Chain Contractors.
Actively support the delivery of the annual Contract and Group SHE Objectives.
Actively engage with the Contract SHE Assurance programme to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements.
Actively support the investigation of all unplanned events and close out of assurance findings, ensuring lessons are shared in accordance with the SHE Management System.
Support the timely reporting, analysis, and use of Environmental data to support and influence the Contract Leadership Team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Environmental related experience.
