Procurement Officer - 6-Month Contract (Temp to Perm Opportunity)
GBP 22 per hour. Hybrid Working. Warwickshire.
We're currently partnering with a local authority client to recruit an experienced Procurement Officer for an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential to transition into a permanent role. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional looking to make a tangible impact within a public sector environment, contributing to strategic procurement and governance across a varied and complex pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex tendering exercises from end to end
- Manage supplier relationships and drive value for money
- Develop and review procurement strategies, policies, and procedures
- Support a diverse procurement pipeline, including supplier engagement, tender documentation, clarifications, and evaluation processes
- Embed robust governance, compliance, and risk management practices
- Drive process improvements in line with evolving legislation and policy
- Support contract management processes, including the use of e-tendering systems
- Maintain the Contract Register and contribute to procurement reporting and spend analysis
- Provide expert advice and training to internal stakeholders
- Assist with FOI requests and procurement-related website content
About You
- Proven experience in public sector procurement
- Confident managing complex tenders and stakeholder relationships
- Strong knowledge of UK procurement legislation and best practice
- Either CIPS qualified, currently studying, or willing to work towards itExcellent communication and organisational skills
Working Pattern
- Flexible: Full‑time (37 hours) or Part‑time (29.6 hours over 4‑5 days)
- Hybrid working model
- Minimum 2 days per week on‑site in Warwickshire
Rate
Circa GBP 22 per hour.
