Complex Needs Teaching Assistant – Leeds nnPosition: Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs / PMLD)nnLocation: Leeds, West YorkshirennContract Type: Full-Time (Term-time)nnWorking Hours: 08:30 – 15:30nnRate of Pay: £95.00 – £110.00 per daynnAbout the Role:nnAre you passionate, compassionate, and patient, with a desire to make a difference in the lives of students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs? We are working with a fantastic, inclusive specialist provision in Leeds that supports pupils with a range of complex physical, sensory, medical, communication, and learning needs. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to help pupils access education in a safe, calm, and nurturing environment, promoting their dignity, wellbeing, and inclusion.

You will work closely with a dedicated team to support the students' development, learning, and personal care.nnAs a Teaching Assistant, you will:nnProvide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs.nAssist with personal care, feeding, hygiene, and mobility, including moving and handling (training provided).nSupport sensory-based learning and communication, using tools such as Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems.nWork with teachers, therapists, and care staff to implement Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).nCreate a calm, supportive, and structured environment that encourages engagement, comfort, and emotional wellbeing. nnWhat We're Looking For:nnExperience supporting children or young people with PMLD, complex needs, SEND, or within care or health settings (desirable).nPatient, compassionate, and resilient approach, with an understanding of individualized support.nWillingness to support personal care, medical routines, and physical needs.nA commitment to safeguarding and promoting the dignity and wellbeing of vulnerable learners. nnTo be eligible for this role, you must:nnHold Right to Work in the UK.nHold an enhanced child barred list DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one.nProvide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years.
