Quality Project Engineer & Supplier Quality Engineer (SQA)nn Portsmouthn £35,000 – £42,000 (Negotiable based on Experience)nn The Opportunitynn We’re recruiting for a Quality Project Engineer & SQA to join a precision engineering environment working on high-spec, tight-tolerance components.nn This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong quality background in CNC/manufacturing who wants to play a key role in driving product quality, supplier performance, and continuous improvement across the business.nn The Rolenn Reporting to the Quality Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring products meet exacting standards, often at micron-level tolerances, while supporting process improvements and supplier quality performance.nn You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and suppliers to drive quality from design through to final inspection.nn Key Responsibilitiesnn Quality & InspectionnnDevelop quality plans, inspection methods, and work instructionsnPerform and oversee first article, in-process, and final inspectionsnUtilise CMM and advanced metrology equipment to validate componentsnEnsure compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 standardsNon-Conformance & ImprovementnnManage non-conformances (NCRs) and lead root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys)nDrive CAPA activities to improve processes and reduce defectsnLead continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield and reduce scrapSupplier QualitynnConduct supplier audits and monitor supplier performancenEnsure incoming materials meet required specificationsnSupport supplier development and corrective actionsProcess & Data AnalysisnnLead Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and Gauge R&R studiesnApply SPC and process capability techniquesnSupport production with controlled process changesWhat We’re Looking Fornn ExperiencennBackground in precision engineering / CNC machining environmentsnExperience in quality engineering, inspection, or supplier qualitynHands-on experience with CMMs and metrology equipmentSkills & KnowledgennStrong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawingsnExperience with quality tools (MSA, SPC, CAPA, 8D, Lean Six Sigma)nFamiliarity with CAD/CAM or inspection software (e.g. Polyworks, PC-DMIS, PowerInspect)nStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsQualificationsnnHNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering (or relevant experience)nASQ CQE (desirable but not essential)Why Apply?nnWork in a high-precision, advanced manufacturing environmentnOpportunity to influence quality standards and supplier performancenBe part of a business focused on continuous improvement and excellencenHands-on role with real impact across production and supply chainIf you’re interested or would like to learn more, apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion
