My client, an specialist M&E subcontractor are actively recruiting for a senior project engineer with a mechanical / electrical background, to join their existing rail team on a high profile rail project in Birmingham.nnThe Senior M&E Project Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) systems within a rail environment. You will bridge the gap between design and construction, ensuring that all M&E services are installed, tested, and commissioned safely, on time, and in full compliance with rail industry standards.nnCandidate Responsibilities:nnManage the technical interface between M&E design teams and site-based installation teams.nAct as the CRE (Contractor's Responsible Engineer) for M&E where required, signing off on technical designs and site changes.nReview and approve Work Package Plans (WPPs) and Task Briefing Sheets (TBS).nEnsure all installations adhere to Network Rail standardsnLead the management of M&E subcontractors, ensuring quality of work and adherence to the project program.nConduct regular site walks to monitor progress, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure “Right First Time” delivery.nOversee the procurement of long-lead M&E equipment (e.g., switchgear, HVAC units, UPS systems).nEnsure all works comply with the CDM 2015 Regulations.nManage the Handover (AMP/OMP) process, ensuring all Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals and “As-Built” drawings are accurate.nAssist the Commercial team in managing variations, assessing subcontractor payment applications, and identifying project risks.nMonitor the M&E program, identifying potential delays and implementing mitigation strategies.Candidate Requirements:nnHNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.nPTS/CSCS Gold/Black Card/SSSTSnMinimum 5-7 years in M&E engineering, with at least 3 years specifically in a rail environment (Stations, Depots, or Tunnels).nProven experience acting as or supporting a CRE.nDeep understanding of rail-specific systems (HV/LV power, OLE, signaling power, fire detection/suppression, and CMS).APPLY NOW!nnRandstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
