Job PurposennThe Plant Operative is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery used in the production of man-made raw materials. This role involves monitoring production processes, maintaining equipment, and carrying out regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal plant performance and product quality.nnKey Responsibilitiesnn * Operate and monitor plant machinery involved in the production of manufactured raw materialsnn * Ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently metnn * Carry out routine cleaning of machinery and work areas to maintain operational efficiency and safetynn * Assist with basic maintenance tasks and report any faults or breakdowns promptlynn * Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all timesnn * Conduct pre-start checks and ensure equipment is functioning correctly before operationnn * Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth production flownn * Maintain accurate production and maintenance records as requirednn * Adhere to housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe working environmentnn * Respond effectively to operational issues and escalate where necessarynnSkills & Experience Requirednn * Previous experience in a manufacturing or plant environment (preferred but not essential)nn * Ability to operate industrial machinery safely and efficientlynn * Good understanding of health and safety practicesnn * Strong attention to detail and commitment to qualitynn * Ability to work independently and as part of a teamnn * Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasksnn * Willingness to work a rotating 3-shift patternnnWorking Conditionsnn * Industrial manufacturing environment (dust, noise, and heavy machinery present)nn * Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all timesnn * Involves standing, lifting, and manual handlingnn * Rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidaysnnKey Attributesnn * Reliable and punctualnn * Proactive and safety-consciousnn * Flexible and adaptable to changing production needsnn * Strong work ethic and positive attitude
