Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor (MEP)nnWatford (Hertfordshire) office (base) with regular travel to London – Need to be eligible to live and work in UKnnAbout Brightway Consultants LtdnnBrightway is a dynamic, client-focused Quantity Surveying consultancy delivering commercial and cost management services across a diverse portfolio of projects, with a strong specialism in Mechanical and Electrical (MEP) services.nnThe RolennDue to continued growth, we are seeking an Assistant to Project Level MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. The role is based in our Watford office, with regular travel to London and surrounding areas to attend client offices and live construction sites.nnYou will support the commercial delivery of MEP packages, typically working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 Mechanical & Electrical Contractors.nnKey Responsibilitiesnn * Measurement and quantification of MEP works from drawings and specifications (take-offs)nn * Tendering and procurement of MEP packagesnn * Preparation of subcontract enquiries and analysis of returnsnn * Payment applications and upstream account managementnn * Cost reporting (CVR), forecasting and cashflow managementnn * Subcontractor procurement and downstream account managementnn * Change management (variations) both upstream and downstreamnn * Assisting with the preparation and agreement of final accountsnn * Attendance at client and site commercial meetingsnnSkills & Experiencenn * Experience working on M&E / MEP projects preferrednn * Strong ambition to develop a long-term career in MEP Quantity Surveyingnn * Candidates from a technical M&E background looking to transition into Quantity Surveying are encouragednn * Ideally experience working for an M&E main contractor or specialist subcontractornn * Strong post-contract experience highly valuednnCandidate Requirementsnn * Relevant experience as a Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor (Assistant to Intermediate level)nn * Commutable to Watford and willing to travel regularly into Londonnn * Eligible to work in the UKnn * CSCS Card holdernn * Degree (or equivalent qualification)nn * MRICS or working towardsnn * Strong numerical and IT skillsnn * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPointnnCareer Development, Training & ProgressionnnWe are committed to long-term professional development and offer:nn * Full support for career progressionnn * Structured in-house training in MEP commercial management and contract administrationnn * Ongoing mentoring from experienced commercial professionalsnn * APC mentoring and structured support towards MRICSnn * Exposure to a wide range of MEP projects to accelerate technical and commercial growthnnBenefits & Rewardnn * Freelance considerednn * Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
