On behalf of a UK client, we are looking for an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO). Applicants must hold a UK Work Permit or UK Passport.
Role Overview
The Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical, electronic, and control systems onboard a jack-up vessel engaged in offshore windfarm maintenance. The role ensures maximum uptime of mission-critical systems, supporting safe and efficient operations in UK offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all vessel electrical and electronic systems, including:
- Power generation and distribution systems (LV/HV where applicable)
- Automation and control systems (PLC/SCADA)
- DP systems (if applicable)
- Navigation and communication equipment
- Jacking system electrical components
- Crane and deck equipment electrical systems
- Support windfarm maintenance operations by ensuring reliability of:
- Gangway systems (motion compensated)
- Personnel transfer systems
- Workshop and mission equipment power supplies
- Perform planned maintenance in accordance with PMS (Planned Maintenance System)
- Diagnose faults and carry out corrective actions with minimal downtime
- Assist in mobilization/demobilization of project equipment
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
- Ensure compliance with:
- Class and flag state requirements
- Company safety management system (SMS)
- UK offshore regulations
- Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and permit-to-work systems
- Provide technical support to other departments as required
Requirements & Qualifications:
Certifications:
- STCW III/6 Electro-Technical Officer Certificate of Competency (CoC)
- Valid STCW Basic Safety Training
- Updated medical certificate (ENG1 or equivalent)
- High Voltage (HV) certification
- DP Maintenance
- Must hold UK Passport or a UK Work Permit
Experience
- Previous experience as an ETO on offshore vessels (jack-up or DP vessels)
- Experience in offshore wind or renewable sector highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and automation
- Familiarity with jack-up systems and gangway operations is an advantage
