Lead Estimator (Contract) – Energy / Infrastructure

Scotland & UK Projects | Long-Term Contract Opportunity


We’re supporting a well-established specialist contractor operating across the energy and infrastructure sector, who are looking to appoint an experienced Lead Estimator to strengthen their commercial capability.


This is a high-impact role within a growing business delivering complex works across UK-wide projects.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the preparation and submission of competitive tenders across multiple live opportunities
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to build robust cost plans
  • Identifying risk, opportunity, and value engineering options within bids
  • Managing technical queries (RFIs) and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Working closely with an established commercial team (QS / SQS level)
  • Driving improvements in estimating processes, systems, and accuracy
  • Supporting the longer-term goal of building and shaping an estimating function


What they’re looking for:

  • Proven experience operating as a Senior or Lead Estimator within civil engineering or infrastructure
  • Essential background in cabling, substations, or renewable energy projects
  • Strong track record in pricing and winning complex infrastructure works
  • Good working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
  • Commercially astute, detail-oriented, and confident engaging with stakeholders
