SQL Commercial Analyst

We’re working with a fast-growing organisation looking for a SQL Commercial Analyst to sit between data engineering and commercial analysis. You’ll own the SQL data environment and turn raw data into insight that drives decision-making across finance, operations, and leadership. This is a high-ownership role with exposure across the business and real impact on how data is used.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and maintain a scalable SQL data warehouse
  • Develop and manage data pipelines ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Analyse key commercial drivers including revenue, pricing, volume, and margin
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable business insight
  • Build forecasting models based on historical data
  • Produce Excel outputs including:
  • Variance analysis
  • Performance bridges
  • Commercial summaries
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into structured analysis
  • Support integration of new data sources as the business scales


What We’re Looking For

  • Strong SQL skills (complex queries, joins, aggregations, large datasets)
  • Experience with data warehouses and data modelling
  • Advanced Excel skills (financial modelling and reporting)
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to link data to business performance
  • Self-sufficient and comfortable working independently


Desirable Experience

  • Fast-growth or multi-entity environments
  • Power BI or similar BI tools
  • ERP/CRM systems
