Job Title: HR Technical Lead (HRIS Lead)
Location: City of London
Hybrid working: minimum 3 days onsite (typically Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)
Role Overview
This is a critical, hands-on role responsible for owning, optimising, and developing the organisation’s HR systems landscape. The HR Technical Lead will act as the subject matter expert for HRIS, driving system improvements, ensuring data integrity, and enabling advanced reporting and analytics.
The role requires a blend of technical HR systems expertise, data capability, and operational HR knowledge. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the HRIS environment and play a key role in shaping its future direction.
HR Systems Ownership
- Act as the primary owner and SME for the HRIS platform
- Manage system configuration, upgrades, and ongoing optimisation
- Conduct regular system health checks and proactively address issues
- Resolve recurring technical issues
Data, Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI and the organisation’s data mart
- Improve data quality, integrity, and accessibility
- Support the organisation’s transition toward a more data-driven HR function
System Development & Integration
- Identify opportunities to enhance system functionality and user experience
- Trial, test, and implement system improvements and new modules
- Manage integrations between the system and other platforms
- Evaluate and advise on future HR technology solutions
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main point of contact for HR system vendors and support teams
- Manage escalations and negotiate support/service outcomes
- Collaborate with HR, IT, and external partners to deliver system enhancements
HR Functional Support
- Provide broad HR systems support across the employee lifecycle
- Support modules including absence management and core data model
- Advise on potential implementation of additional modules
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Proven experience in HR systems ownership or HRIS lead role
- Ability to build reports and dashboards (Power BI or similar)
- Experience managing system integrations and troubleshooting technical issues
- Strong stakeholder management and vendor engagement skills
Desirable
- Experience implementing new HRIS modules or system enhancements
Knowledge of HR data structures and reporting requirements
Candidate Profile
- Experienced, self-sufficient, and technically strong (not a junior profile)
- Able to operate both strategically and hands-on
- Comfortable working across HR and IT boundaries
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and capable of taking full system ownership
