Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver comprehensive lectures and practical sessions across various courses including Level 1 Hair and Beauty, VRQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Hairdressing, and more.
- Engage and inspire students through hands-on demonstrations and innovative teaching practices.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support students in achieving their learning goals.
- Develop and update course materials to ensure they meet industry standards and enhance the learning experience.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the curriculum and participate in departmental activities.
- Maintain professional knowledge and stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in hairdressing and barbering.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Hairdressing, along with an assessor qualification.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the hairdressing industry.
- Proven teaching experience in hairdressing.
- Willingness to work towards a Level 5 teacher training qualification if not already obtained (support provided by the College).
- Additional qualifications in Expert colourist/colour correction or Creative hair up are desirable but not essential.
