Contracts Manager / Quantity Surveyor (Civils, Demolition & Haulage)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and well‑established business operating across civils, demolition and haulage. Following the departure of a key senior figure, the business is now looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager / Quantity Surveyor to play a pivotal role in both operational delivery and commercial growth. This is a unique position offering autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to build and shape your own department within a forward‑thinking business.

The Role

This is a hybrid position combining contracts management, commercial oversight, and business development responsibilities.

• Managing multiple civils and demolition projects from pre‑construction through to completion
• Overseeing contractual and commercial performance across projects
• Preparing, reviewing and managing estimates, tenders, and pricing submissions
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new clients
• Identifying and securing new business opportunities
• Managing variations, valuations, and final accounts
• Supporting operational teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, safely, and within budget
• Taking ownership of the commercial function with scope to develop systems and processes

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or Quantity Surveyor role within Civil Engineering, Demolition, and Groundworks / Infrastructure
• Strong commercial awareness with experience in estimating/tendering, cost control and reporting, client‑facing work, and ability to win work as well as deliver it
• Self‑sufficient and capable of “hitting the ground running”
• Comfortable working in a standalone or leadership capacity
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
