Fitter - Heavy Engineering

About the role

RSW is looking to recruit a Fitter for a client in the Bridgend area. The position is in the heavy engineering sector and involves repairing and installing used and new Balers, Crushers, Conveyors and Shears across the UK.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Must be able to fault find
• Must be experienced within the field
• Must hold a full UK driving licence
• Must be able to travel and stay away when required
• Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the business
• Health and safety regulations must be followed

Working arrangements

Working away and weekend work are a must when needed. The client provides a breakdown service and works throughout the UK – this could be planned work or possibly an emergency breakdown and a short‑notice job.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary is between £19–23 per hour, depending solely on experience.

Working 40+ hours per week. The candidate must be able to travel and be available to stay away when needed.

Time and half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays.

Pension scheme – you pay 5% and the company pays 3%.
