An exciting opportunity has arisen within our organisation and we are seeking an experienced and motivated Paramedic Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive General Practice team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the top of your licence within primary care, delivering high quality, patient centred care.

The post is suitable for a registered Paramedic with an Independent Prescribing qualification, or someone actively working towards prescribing and supported to complete it.

Main duties of the job

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic conditions
• Undertake same day and routine appointments
• Manage minor illness, long term conditions, and urgent presentations
• Prescribe safely and appropriately (where qualified)
• Order and interpret investigations
• Provide clinical advice and support to the wider MDT
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate, high quality clinical records

Job responsibilities

The Paramedic in Practice will work as an autonomous, advanced clinical practitioner within the primary care or community setting, delivering high quality, patient centred care. The post holder will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with a wide range of acute, chronic, and complex conditions.

The role includes medicines optimisation and prescribing responsibilities for those with a Non Medical Prescribing qualification, or a commitment to work towards the qualification within an agreed timeframe.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Registered Paramedic with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Degree in Paramedic Science (BSc or equivalent)
• Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
• Demonstrable experience of autonomous clinical assessment and decision making
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Willingness to undertake further training relevant to General Practice
• Evidence of training in minor illness, long term condition management, or urgent care
• Experience working within General Practice, Primary Care Network, or community healthcare
• or demonstrable progress towards, or commitment to undertaking, the qualification
• Postgraduate qualification in Primary Care / Advanced Clinical Practice (MSc, PGDip, or equivalent)
• Mentorship or teaching qualification or experience supporting trainees
